Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Sundial in stained glass window An intriguing section of a window in the south aisle. With a gnomen on the outside casting a shadow across the dial, members of the congregation might know the passage of time. I was told that its present location, facing south, was unsuitable for its purpose, perhaps due to the hours shown? Note the spider-andfly motif in the corner. Latin: Dum loquimur fugit hora - "while we talk, time flies", possibly an exhortation to the priest to keep his sermon short. From the strapwork design, late Elizabethan, early King James I
