Imprint derived from colophon (leaf D7v): "Su[m]mae astrologiae iudicialis accidentibus mu[n]di anglicana vulgo nuncupatur. Iohannis eschuid viri anglici eiusdem scientiae astrologiae peritissim. Finis hic imponitur faustus. Opera quoq[ue] & cura diligenti qua fieri potuit. Iohannis lucilii. Sanctiter [sic] helbro[n]nensis germani. Impensis quoq[ue] non minimis. Generosi viri. Fra[n]cisci bolani eloquentissimi olim viri Candiani patritii veneti. Anno salutis .1489. nonis Iulii impressione completum est Venetiis."

Chancery folio; printed in double columns, a2 recto: 57 lines plus headline, 231 (237) x 144 mm; types: 82R (text), 60G (legend on diagram on r1 recto), 55G (legend on other diagrams); woodcut initials and initial spaces with guide letters. Woodcut map on f4 recto.
221 leaves, many errors in foliation. Leaf n5 is a signed singleton.

COPY NOTE: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.403.46 FOLIO with many leaves bound out of order: g2, g3 bound in after g1 and g4; o2, o3 bound in after o1, o4; r2 bound in after r 4; B2, B3 bound in after B1, B4. Capital swashes in yellow. First 5 leaves numbered in a contemporary hand, in red ink in upper margins. Otherwise foliated in modern pencil in upper outer margins. Leaf dimensions: 313 x 216 mm. Deckles on some fore-edges.
PROVENANCE: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.403.46 FOLIO with full-page engraved bookplate of Ferdinand Hoffman, Freiherr von Grünbüchel und Stechau ("Ex Bibliotecha Illustris ac Generosi Domini D[omi]ni Ferdinandi Hoffman Liberi Baronis in Grunpuhel et Strecau ...") on both front pastedown and on pi2 verso. Dealer's codes, prices, etc. Earlier inscription on front pastedown obscured. Parchment manuscript flyleaf and pi 1 recto labeled "Inc 130." Early/contemporary marginalia, in various hands, throughout. Purchased in December, 1936.
BINDING: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.403.46 FOLIO bound in early blind tooled calfskin over wooden boards, rebacked. Brass catch plates present, with clasps lacking. Flyleaf at front made from a leaf of a medieval liturgical manuscript (possibly a passionarium) on vellum (gothic bookhand, rubricated in blue and red, several lines of chant in gothic notation added to verso). Rear pastedown made from a leaf of later manuscript music waste (4-line staves, square notation).
