DescriptionSubgiant Sun from scorched Earth in 6.4 billion years from now during 'full' eclipse.tif |
English: (small zoom-in) Artist's impression of yellow giant sunset during 'full' eclipse over scorched flatland surface of the Earth in 6,4 billion years from now when the Sun exhausted its hydrogen fuel and began evolving into a red giant.
As hydrogen stops burning in the Sun's core and starts burning in the shell, the Sun leaves the main sequence and turns into a subgiant. By that time, all the water on Earth will have evaporated and the surface will be a scorched desert. The Sun has increased several times in diameter and cooled, but its luminosity has increased. The moon has moved away from the Earth due to tidal acceleration. This is not an artificial intelligence (AI) work. |
