Description |
English: For their private art gallery, the Fürstenbergs commissioned a mural by Carl Larsson. The artist accepted the assignment on the condition that he could carry it out in France, and that the Fürstenbergs paid for his stay there. The result was the famous Fürstenberg triptych, which was shown at the World Fair in Paris in 1889, where it was awarded a 1st class medal. Larsson made a large number of studies for the triptych. Many of these were given to friends; this one he gave to the sculptor Christian Eriksson. |
