Summary
[edit]DescriptionStopover (Abridged Version).webm |
English: Stopover explores the narratives and stories of four Indian immigrants who live and work in Dubai. Through their personal journeys and everyday lives - a construction labourer, a CEO of a well-reputed company, an airhostess and a waiter - it examines their aspirations and ambitions, and how in trying to fulfill them, they contribute to the mega-ambitious of the city of Dubai and sustain it in their own ways. Their primary reason to migrate may have been the same – the hope of a better future, but each of them has a distinct and unique life experience to share.
Collin is an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India. His diploma film, Shyam Raat Seher, won two National Film Awards. His short film – Mumbaikar Ganesh – was adjudged the Best Film at the Mumbai Film Festival, the Best Short Film in Melbourne and was screened at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. He has assisted filmmakers Reema Kagti, Om Prakash Mehra and Raj Kumar Hirani, amongst others. This is his documentary. |
