Description |
English: Marcus Larson captured the wilds of Sweden in meticulous studies in oil. Stony Forest Landscape was painted in Småland in 1853. His studies were used to provide the basis for his better known monumental works, painted in his studio and intended for public display. But the oil studies – with their acute observation and fastidious attention to every little detail – more than merit closer consideration. |
