Description
Deutsch: Rund um die Leintorbrücke in der Altstadt von Hannover fand sich vor den Luftangriffen auf Hannover im Zweiten Weltrkrieg eine dichte Bebauung von Fachwerkhäusern zumeist aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Mit der Jahreszahl 1598 versehen ist das Fachwerkgebäude links der Bildmitte: Das Restaurant Alt's Bier-Haus zur Residenz lockte seine Gäste mit freien Konzerten in seiner "humoristischen Konzert-Halle". Links daneben fand sich das um 1540 errichtete und noch in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhundert erhaltene Fachwerkhaus unter der Adresse Ernst-August-Straße 2 Ecke Rademacherstraße, das als Sammethaus Louis Schmidt als Deutschlands größtes Versandhaus insbesondere für Lindener Samt auch eine Filiale in Köln unterhielt ...
