English: This video shows preserved ex-LNER/British Railways B1 class 4-6-0 steam locomotive no 61306 "Mayflower" pulling The Cathedrals Express excursion train from Oxford to Kingswear on Wednesday 1st April 2015
The train left Oxford at 8.25, and was due into Kingswear just before three o'clock. We see her stop at Aldermaston station on the Berks and Hants line of the GWR, which was a passenger pick-up stop. I had intended to also film her at Newbury, but traffic jams en route meant I was too late. Mayflower has recently made her mainline return after 25 years away, and is scheduled to run many excursions in the coming season. There are several other videos of her first few excursions on my channel. |
