Summary
[edit]DescriptionSitta europaea caesia.ogv |
English: Species: Sitta europaea caesia.
The Southern Nuthatch, Sitta europaea caesia, preferably inhabits forest with tall trees, where there is undergrowth. It can be found in the city, in parks and in the lonely forests as well. Its flight is easy, but not very fast, sometimes fluttering. Above all, he is the most accomplished climber of all birds. The nuthatch can climb down on vertical surfaces from top to bottom, which can do no other bird species. Here, in the video, a nuthatch searches the bark of a Black Locust for caterpillars and insects wintering under the bark. The partner is climbing another trunk near it (not to see on the video). |
