Separation of two stages of the Saturn IB launch vehicle during AS-202, an uncrewed test flight of the Apollo program.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This video shows the separation of two stages of the Saturn IB launch vehicle during AS-202, an uncrewed test flight of the Apollo program. A camera mounted to the interior of the S-IB, The Saturn IB's first stage, records the separation of the S-IVB, its second stage, and subsequent firing of its J-2 engine. The S-IVB is identifiable by three ullage motors which also fire. The version of the S-IVB which was used on the Saturn IB configuration had three ullage motors, whereas a modified version of the S-IVB which was used on the Saturn V configuration had only two. As the spent S-IB stage falls back toward Earth, the onboard camera is ejected.
