Summary
[edit]DescriptionSecret Pond - geograph.org.uk - 1730734.jpg |
English: Secret Pond, Thorpe le Street, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The pond lies between the two carriageways of the A1079 Hull to York road. The A1079 was made into a dual carriageway at this point probably thirty or so years ago. The York (NW) bound side of the road is very straight as it is the 'new' section, whereas the Hull bound section is twisty as it it follows the course of the old road. The pond acts as a natural drain as the roadways traverse this marshy section of land. Secret?... well the pond is virtually invisible to occupants of passing cars - I only found it as I walked by! |
