Summary

English: Did you know there are sea spiders underwater? Well, they aren't actually spiders, but they look like spiders. The black sea spider (Anoplodactylus lentus) found in Gray's Reef is gangly and are almost all legs with only a tiny narrow body. Their bodies are so small, some of their organs are in their legs! These sea spiders are carnivores and use their proboscis (an elongated sucking mouth part) to suck juices from bryozoans and hydroids. Fortunately, they are harmless to divers. |
