English: For more than 40 years, the managers of natural areas have needed to catch ibex for scientific monitoring and reintroduction purposes. - to measure individuals (biometric readings) and to take samples for analysis (genetics, serology, parasitology, coprology, etc.); identify animals by visual marking and / or collaring to obtain information on space use, movement corridors, survival and reproduction rates. This female ibex alpine, born in 2012 was marked in 2016 with a green right earring, a green left earring and a white collar in the Haute-Maurienne sector of the Vanoise National Park. It is pictured here in 2017 with her baby near the Saulces pass in July 2017. This animal has been named Houpette by the guards of the Vanoise National Park.English: Scientific monitoring of ibex in Vanoise National Park with marking (earrring and collar) |
