| Description |
English: Sandown Zoo, 1973 Now named "Isle of Wight Zoo". Around the time that this photograph was taken it was known as the "Slum Zoo of Britain" because of its decline. The present owners rescued the Zoo from closure in 1976. The zoo is now involved in conservation projects and is home to Britain's largest collection of tigers.
