“Albion 11th mo 29 th 1828
Respected Friend,
Thy letter in answer to mine came duly to hand –- and in reply to which I cannot do otherwise than to say as I did before that I am wholly destitute of means until I can sell either my store or the farm which I mentioned before –- I feel some in hopes that I can make sale for it in N. Jersey if not here –- I shall leave it for sale and be assured that my object is wholly to pay my debts -- I some expect to start on my journey tomorrow or next day – I would sell my Store very low for good pay, and not because I consider it poor property but I think it would be better for me to sell it than keep it-- Thine with respect Sam. Laing”
