- Le métier de staffeur, né vers 1830, est non seulement un métier d'artiste créateur, mais aussi un métier exigeant des compétences organisatrices et techniques pour la réalisation de grands chantiers. Le staffeur n'est pas seulement un ornemaniste ; il se peut que pour certains projets, il ait à tenir compte d'impératifs techniques divers l'acoustique, l'esthétique, la diffusion de la lumière, etc. Par ailleurs, les matériaux récemment mis au point ont permis à ce métier de trouver de nouveaux débouchés dans l'industrie (automobile, électroménager, etc.). Ce livre offre à l'étudiant staffeur les bases théoriques en dessins d'art et industriel, accompagnées des notions de géométrie descriptive nécessaires. Il présente toutes les techniques de traînage, de moulage qui nécessitent un savoir-faire très rigoureux.
