Summary
[edit]DescriptionRule Bridge - geograph.org.uk - 428600.jpg |
English: Rule Bridge This old bridge spanning the Rule Water is documented as being built by the Douglases of Cavers in 1748. It is adjacent to the modern Spittal-on-Rule Bridge and this photograph was taken directly below the modern bridge. Flush bracket number 1500 used to be housed on the southeast parapet (the parapets no longer exist) and was used in the second geodetic levelling, England and Wales (1912-21).
