Summary
[edit]DescriptionRow of seven preserved Routemaster buses, Prince Albert Road, route 159 anniversary run, 8 December 2007.jpg |
English: A row of seven privately owned preserved Routemaster buses, pictured parked up on the Prince Albert Road (A5205) near London Zoo and Regent's Park, about to leave on a return outing to Thornton Heath on the 8 December 2007 route 159 anniversary run, a recreation of Routemaster operation on route 159, which had stopped using Routemasters two years previously on 9 December 2005, as the last normal route using them in London (operation continued in London on the tourist focussed heritage routes, 9H and 15H). All of them wear various versions of red London Transport livery, except the second to front one, RM2186 (reg. CUV 186C), which wears a recreation of the livery it wore as one of the 1979 George Shillibeer Omnibus 150th anniversary buses, (see image of it travelling through Westminster later in the day), and the one at the rear is restored in London Country Bus Services NBC Green. |
