Description
English: Roman Altar Stone. Possible Roman Altar Stone at West Uppertown and put to a practical use - a step in a "hen cree". Keys to the Past Web Site: Uppertown; a small stone inscribed with the letters ‘VLPI…SABIN’ on it. They were found when the kitchen of Simonburn rectory when it was rebuilt in the 18th century.
