| Description |
English: River Trent at Alrewas, Staffordshire. On a dull day, a hire-boat is approaching and preparing to tie up before entering Alrewas Lock. The River Trent enters from the left, through the canal towpath/bridge, and in the distance is the large sign warning boat crews to keep clear of the weir where the river goes to the right and the Trent and Mersey Canal continues towards Wychnor. Because this part of the canal shares the river course for three hundred metres, navigation is not allowed in times of flood. |
