Summary
[edit]DescriptionRemains of the Vesper Gate - geograph.org.uk - 268077.jpg |
English: Remains of the Vesper Gate This pillar is the only surviving fragment of the wall which once surrounded Kirkstall Abbey. Comparison with a picture from 1947 on the Leodis website http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?resourceIdentifier=2002129_20025271&DISPLAY=FULL shows that it has lost some stones from the left side in the last 60 years, although it is still as tall. |
