English: Time-lapse recording of cell division progression in partial embryos. Development of a whole embryo is shown on the left. At the 64-cell stage, B7.4 and B7.8 muscle precursor cells were isolated and recorded up to the terminal cell division. When cell division occurred, “D” appears in the top-left corner. B7.4 divided three times, while B7.8 divided twice after the 64-cell stage. Note that in both lineages, the timing of the final cell divisions was temporally close. The movie comprises one recording taken every 3 min for a total of 11 hr, covering the period from the 64-cell stage to the tailbud stage. |
