Description
English: Cell Behavior during Epiboly in a Control Embryo Time-lapse recording of gastrulation cell movements in the epiblast at 8 hpf (lateral view). The coordinated migration of blastomeres and the general cell cohesion of the epiblast can be seen, along with some dividing cells. Radial intercalation events normally take place (see Figure 7), with cells from the interior cell layer entering the exterior cell layer and flattening out (building cell contacts with the surrounding cells). No instances of deintercalation could be observed. The recording was made over 20 min at four frames per minute. The images were converted into a video using the Axiovision 4.7 software (Zeiss).
