Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Somerville Museum and Somerville Media Center collected video recordings of members of the community reading sections of Frederick Douglass' famous speech "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?"

The video program that we put together of these readings will debuted on July 3, 2020 and was followed by a discussion with the project scholar, Keidrick Roy and will also cablecast throughout the month on Somerville Community Access Television.

This program is funded in part by Mass Humanities, which receives support from the Mass Cultural Council and is an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
