| Description |
English: Railway Bridge over the River Dee The main railway bridge over the River Dee alongside the Roodee Racecourse. The current main line to Holyhead shares the two lines in the photo with the line to Shrewsbury. To the left of those sections, and out of sight, are another two sections of bridge that are not used and have no track. There used to be another local line to Mold, which helps to explain the earlier need for four bridges. At the far side of the Roodee are the main grandstand and hospitality buildings, and behind that the City of Chester. |
