  • Rachathirat is a Thai-language historical novel about King Rachathirat (Razadarit) of the Mon kingdom of Hanthawaddy in present-day Myanmar. It was written by a Thai nobleman, Chaophraya Phrakhlang (Hon), and his team, at the behest of King Rama I in the year 1147 Lesser Era (2328 Buddhist Era, 1785/86 Common Era), based upon at least two Mon-language documents, namely, Razadarit Ayedawbon and Nithan Thammachedi Katha.
  • The work was subsequently revised under the supervision of Prince Aksonsatsophon, who was in charge of the Royal Scribes' Department during the reign of King Rama IV, and was first published by Doctor Dan Beach Bradley in the year 1243 Lesser Era (2423 Buddhist Era, 1880/81 Common Era).
  • A research by Butsaba Trakunsatchawat from Chulalongkorn University found that the revised version published by Doctor Bradley is different from the version found in the original manuscript: the contents of the manuscript version are in line with and faithful to the Mon documents but the revised version underwent many edits, including both subtraction and expansion, which gave more fictional features to the work.
  • The version contained in this file was published by Rat Charoen Printing House in Bangkok in the year 2432 Buddhist Era (1889/90 Common Era) and is perhaps a printing of the version found in the original manuscript, not the version published by Doctor Bradley, because it often contains such a note as "the ... volume of the manuscript ends here". In addition, this Rat Charoen version is, in some parts, different from the version subsequently standardised by the National Library of Thailand, known as the National Library Version.

  • ราชาธิราช เป็นนวนิยายอิงประวัติศาสตร์ ซึ่งเจ้าพระยาพระคลัง (หน) และคณะ เรียบเรียงขึ้นตามรับสั่งของพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลก (รัชกาลที่ ๑) เมื่อ จ.ศ. ๑๑๔๗ (พ.ศ. ๒๓๒๘) โดยนำเรื่องราวของพระเจ้าราชาธิราช พระมหากษัตริย์มอญ ที่ปรากฏในเอกสารมอญอย่างน้อย ๒ ฉบับ คือ ยาซาดะริต อเยดอว์บอง และ นิทานธรรมเจดีย์กถา มาเรียบเรียง
