English: RNLI Mobile Training Unit at Donaghadee
The days when lifeboats were manned by gnarled fishermen with a lifetimes knowledge of the sea are gone. Many volunteers have little or no seagoing experience. The RNLI places considerable importance on training one example of which is the Mobile Training Unit which allows crews to be trained in specialist matters without having to visit Poole. One of the MTUs vans is seen outside Donaghadee lifeboat station see 309984. |
