-왜 한미 해병대는 이렇게 자주 합동 훈련을 하는겁니까? Why do the ROK and U.S. Marine Corps train together so often?

한미 해병대는 6.25 전쟁때도 함께 전투를 한 피를 나눈 해병대라고 생각합니다. 앞으로 우리가 전쟁을 할 때 연합작전의 필요성이 증가되고 있기 때문에 한미해병대는 더욱더 많은 훈련을 함께 해야한다고 생각됩니다.

The US and ROK Marine Corps fought together in Korean war against North Korea, so I think we share a bond. Since the necessity of joint exercise is growing, I think we should train together more and more to stay prepared.

-오늘날 한미 해병대의 준비태세에 대해서 어떻게 생각하십니까? How would assess U.S. and ROK Marine readiness today?

KMEP 훈련을 준비하면서 미해병대의 전투기술과 미 해병대의 용맹성같은 것들을 많이 배웠고, 특히 오늘 실시하는 CALFEX관련해서 한미해병들이 상호 전투기술을 교환하고 또 상호 운용성을 높이는 기회가 되었다고 생각합니다.

Preparing for the KMEP exercise, we learned the skill and bravery of U.S. Marines, especially related with the CALFEX, I think U.S. and ROK Marines could exchange battle skills and continue to improve interoperability.

-더 해주고 싶으신 말씀이 있으십니까? Do you have any final message? 이번 미 해병대에서 정말로 용감하다고 알고있는 Combat Assault Battalion 과 같이 훈련을 할 수 있어서 영광이었고, 이번 훈련을 바탕으로 한미 해병대의 우정이 더욱 공고해지기를 기대합니다.

It was an honor to exercise together with the Combat Assault Battalion which is so popular for its bravery, and I expect friendship between the U.S. and ROK Marines get stronger after this exercise.
