Description |
English: Designed for Pacific warfare and built by the Beattie Mfg Company, Little Falls New Jersey, chemical warfare services new and improved portable flamethrower model M2-2, is playing an increasingly improtant role in the fighting against the Japs. A solid sheet of flame, like a liquid bolt of lightning shoots form the new weapon, during practise firing. The weapon was built to fire jellied gasoline of the type used in the sensational new incendiary bombs being dropped on Japan's industrial centers. Range of firing has been increased with new fuel from 30 yards to more than 60 yards. The gun can be fired in either short bursts or in one continuous burst. It was developed by the Chemical Warfare Service for use of infantry, Marines, combat engineers, and C.W.S. troops, and rushed into production last winter. |
