Description

The Quest was Queenstown Secondary School’s school Magazine. Produced by the school’s teachers and students, the magazine covered the school’s academic and extra-curricular activities, and published student contributions in English, Malay and Chinese. The editorial team consisted of the principal Mr. Chan Chieu Kiat, Mr. Ng Lian Timn, Mr. Anwar Bey, Mr. Tan Song Mong, Mr. Tam Wing Hong (Chinese Section) and typists Ho An Chuan IV A, Goh Phai Cheng V A, and Siow Joo Yin V A.

At the time of this issue, the school was still known as Queenstown Secondary School, rather than Queenstown Secondary Technical School as it was later called, as it had not yet attained the status of a full Secondary Technical School.

Queenstown Secondary School (former Queenstown Secondary Technical School) was Singapore’s first technical school. The all-boys school was opened in 1956 to meet the demand for skilled workers in the mid-1950s as Singapore’s economy underwent diversification.
