Description
Português: O Censo Demográfico 2022 mostrou que há mais de 1,3 milhão de #quilombolas no Brasil, presentes em todo o território nacional, de norte a sul.

Esses povos tradicionais têm muito a ensinar e compartilhar sobre desenvolvimento sustentável e direitos humanos, inclusive sobre o direito a um meio ambiente seguro e saudável.

As comunidades quilombolas promovem sua segurança alimentar através da agricultura familiar, privilegiando a preservação da fauna e da flora, de florestas e rios.

Escutar suas vozes, conhecer e considerar suas realidades e necessidades específicas é fundamental para a elaboração de políticas públicas e de iniciativas eficazes para assegurar seus direitos humanos e a plena participação das comunidades quilombolas nos processos de tomada de decisão.

Na semana em que celebramos o Dia Internacional de Pessoas Afrodescendentes, reafirmamos nosso compromisso de enfrentar o racismo e a discriminação racial e promover os direitos de todas as pessoas afrodescendentes. E reiteramos que não há desenvolvimento sustentável sem igualdade racial!
