English: Movie of the motion of a growth cone imaged with time-lapse differential interference contrast (DIC) microscopy on the surface of the coverslip where the growth cone is located and at three focal planes 1, 2 and 3 µm above the coverslip. The four planes were scanned every 5 seconds. Filopodia are often seen in focus at 2 and 3 µm from the coverslip. (Acquisition rate: 5Hz; Scale bar, 2 µm). Numbers in the upper right corner indicate time in seconds. |
