Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Video of a three-dimensional reconstruction of a dendritic knob following immunofluorescence staining for olfactory marker protein and PrP Sc in the olfactory sensory epithelium of a normal, mock-infected hamster. Laser scanning confocal microscopy of olfactory marker protein (OMP)(red, top panel), PrP Sc (green, middle panel), and for both OMP and PrP Sc (bottom panel) in the same field of view was performed as described in Figure 4 . LSCM image stacks (0.10 µM optical slice) through the thickness of the tissue were used to generate a three-dimensional reconstruction of an individual dendritic knob. This movie illustrates a 360° stereoview of the dendritic knob (OMP immunofluorescence), but no PrP Sc immunofluorescence is evident in this structure from normal hamsters. (7.97 MB AVI)
