La ilustración representa el momento en el que el entonces príncipe de México Moctezuma el Joven (izquierda), quien futuramente sería emperador, llegando al rescate de un grupo de mercaderes quienes habían sido sitiados durante la campaña para la conquista de Ayotlan durante el reinado de Ahuizotl a fines del siglo XV. Los mercaderes se ven hablando con Moctezuma, informándole sobre el fin de la guerra.English: Illustration from General History of the Things of New Spain by Fray Bernardino de Sahagún, often referred to as the Florentine Codex, in folio 6 recto of the 9th book.
The illustration depicts the moment in which then-prince of Mexico Moctezuma the Younger (at the right), who would eventually become emperor, arrives to the rescue of a group of Merchants who had been put under siege during the campaign to conquer Ayotlan during the reign of Ahuizotl in the late 15th century. The merchants are seen talking to Moctezuma, informing him of the end of the war. |
