Description |
English: Portrait of three Inuit An elderly Inuit woman with two Inuit men, standing, in outdoor clothing made from seal skin. The jacket of the man on the left has toggles made from ivory. The elderly woman is also featured in image G4269. There is some masking paper on the emulsion side of the negative. It is not known where this group was photographed. The Phoenix visited four settlements along the west coast of Greenland: Holsteinborg, Godhavn, Proven, and Upernarvick between 8 June and 21 July 1854. |
