Description
English: Polish pavilion, example of art déco architecture (architects Józef Czajkowski, Wojciech Jastrzębowski and sculptor Henryk Kuna and painters Tadeusz Gronowski, Józef Mehoffer and Zofia Stryjeńska won Golden Medals in Paris) at International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, Paris, 8th of July 1925. This Autochrome Lumière was not colorized. Visible Polish coat of arms and sculpture „Rytm” by Henryk Kuna in the courtyard.
Polski: Polski pawilon w Paryżu na Międzynarodowej Wystawie Sztuki Dekoracyjnej i Wzornictwa dnia 8 lipca 1925. Przykład architektury art déco inspirowanej klasycznym dworkiem polskim, barokowymi kościołami i stylem zakopiańskim. Próba stworzenia polskiego stylu narodowego. Architekci Józef Czajkowski, Wojciech Jastrzębowski i rzeźbiarz Henryk Kuna i malarze Tadeusz Gronowski, Józef Mehoffer oraz Zofia Stryjeńska otrzymali złote medale. Francuski krytyk sztuki pochodzenia polskiego Waldemar George, redaktor naczelny miesięcznika L’Amour de l’Art napisał (1925): „Pawilon polski uważam za najbardziej oryginalny i skończony ze wszystkich pawilonów cudzoziemskich. Stanowi znakomitą jedność i w równie największym stopniu jest polski, nie przestając być nowoczesnym.” Jest to fotografia kolorowa czyli autochrom braci Lumière, który nie został pokolorowany. Widoczne jest polskie godło oraz rzeźba „Rytm” Henryka Kuny na dziedzińcu pawilonu.
