Description
Bahasa Indonesia: Wilayah Gunung Halimun telah ditetapkan menjadi hutan lindung semenjak tahun 1924, dengan luas saat itu 39.941 ha. Kemudian pada 1935 kawasan hutan ini diubah statusnya menjadi Cagar Alam Gunung Halimun. Status tersebut bertahan hingga tahun 1992, ketika kawasan ini ditetapkan menjadi Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun dengan luas 40.000 ha, sesuai dengan Surat Keputusan Menteri Kehutanan No. 282/Kpts-II/1992 tanggal 28 Februari 1992. Sampai dengan lima tahun berikutnya, taman nasional yang baru ini pengelolaannya "dititipkan" kepada Taman Nasional Gunung Gede – Pangrango yang lokasi dan wilayahnya berdekatan. Hingga 23 Maret 1997, taman nasional ini memiliki unit pengelolaan yang tersendiri sebagai Balai Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun.
