This autonomous body established by UNESCO under the chairmanship of Mr Sean MacBride, Nobel Peace Prize winner, is composed of 16 eminent personalities from all regions of the world. The Commission has been given the task of studying the totality of communication problems in contemporary society. From left to right Mr John E. Fobes, Deputy Director General of UNESCO, Mr Amadou-Mahtar M'Bow, UNESCO's Director General and Mr Sean Mac Bride Français : Premièe réunion de la Commission internationale pour l'étude des problèmes de communication. Cet organisme autonome a été créé par l'UNESCO sous la présidence de M. Sean MacBride, Prox Nobel de la Paix.
