Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This publication contains many Perigal's dissections and in particular the two following:
  • Abu'l-Wafa's Pythagora dissection rediscovered by Perigal in 1830 and first published by Mr. William Godward for private circulation among Perigal's friend in 1835.
  • 6-piece square trisection solution. The technique was first published in the Messenger of Mathematics "On Geometric Dissections and Transformations", No 19 in 1875, probably found around 1840 according to a short biography after the publication of L.J. Rogers (1897) "On certain Regular Polygons in Modular Network". Proceedings London Mathematical Society. Volume s1-29, appendix pp. 732-735.
