L.S.C.: Leidsch Studenten Corps, Virtus Concordia Fides (\'Leiden student association, virtue, unity, loyalty\'). The fraternity was founded in 1839 and merged in 1974 with the sorority V.V.S.L. (Vereeniging voor Vrouwelijke Studenten te Leiden) into the mixed student association Minerva.
The play was part of the festivities on the occasion of the anniversary in 1925. The play was about the battle between William the Silent (Willem van Oranje) and Fernando Álvarez de Toledo, 3rd Duke of Alba during the Dutch Revolt in the 16th and 17th century. The play was written by H. Teirlinck and J. de Meester jr. and directed by J. de Meester jr. The music was composed by L. Smit. The decor was designed by H.E. van der Pauwert.
