Description |
English: The Pacific Highway ran from Vancouver, British Columbia to southern California, passing through King County, Washington, on the way. Workers completed the stretch of road between Everett and Seattle in 1912. The original route went south through Bothell, turned west to Lake Forest Park and then went south along the shore of Lake Washington to Seattle. The highway was later rerouted and became U.S. 99.
This 1915 photo shows the old Pacific Highway near Bothell, Washington. Because the section of highway connecting Bothell with Lake Forest Park had been paved with brick in 1913, this photo probably shows an area north of Bothell. In 1915, the Pacific Coast Automobile Blue Book described the Pacific Highway north of Bothell as "a well defined hard dirt road."
