Notes
  • Significance: The Canal Road Bridge is the earliest reinforced concrete deck arch bridge in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Constructed over the head race leading to an early hydroelectric power station, it marks changes in land use and the development of such key infrastructures as electrical power generation and transportation networks. As part of the power station, the bridge has important historical links to the developing Portland cement industry of the Lehigh Valley.
