English: Out of the swell below St. Abbs lighthouse The numerous zawns, stacks, clefts and caves below St. Abbs Head are inaccessible to any but the smallest craft, but form an excellent day's exploring in sea kayaks. The outer cliffs are beset by swell even on a calm day like this, but within the channels and lagoons such as this one directly below the lighthouse, the water can be calm and the paddler has time to take in the wheeling birds and other wildlife. |
