Summary
[edit]DescriptionOtter floodplain - geograph.org.uk - 1139295.jpg |
English: Otter floodplain Until Tudor times this low lying land used to be all sea, with boats going up here as far as Otterton (a mile further north). When the pebble bar at Salterne (Budleigh Salterton) formed, this area became salt marsh. Gradually the land has been reclaimed but as can be seen here is still very wet as befits a flood plain. |
