Notes
  • Significance: Constructed ca. 1920 by Don Isidro Roman, master builder for its owner Juan Ortiz Perichi, this residence is one of the most elaborate and spatially rich architectural examples in Puerto Rico. Located on San German's main thoroughfare, the 2 story wooden house with zinc roofing and a concrete basement exhibits, in addition to rich ornamentation, a particular sense of scale and an interesting sequence of spaces. Decoration is evident in the facades, specifically that facing Luna Street, which is partially surrounding by a concrete balustraded balcony and an off-set sweeping staircase.
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: FN-22
  • Survey number: HABS PR-123
  • Building/structure dates: ca. 1920 Initial Construction
