| Description |
English: Ornamental Doorway by Old Hall Farm This impressive doorway, by Old Hall Farm on the bank of the River Dee, is not attached to anything else, and looks quite out of place. However, on the 1882 O.S. map there is a path leading from near here, and what was then called Dee Cottage, to a large landing stage on the River Dee. The 1881 census records Henry Hurlbutt, Timber Merchant, living at Dee Cottage, so it may have been his personal doorway for accessing his own landing stage. |
