Description
English: Oriel window. On the Halifax building in Long Eaton. This is (as far as I am aware) the only building in Long Eaton by the often distinctive Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill. If it were not confirmed by the buildings (Grade II) listing description I would have doubted the attribution as it shows non of his usual eccentric flamboyance (perhaps at its extreme here 1443245). The banding of dark blue brick, the pillared entrance on the south west corner, the tall chamfered chimneys and this window are the only, subtle, clues
