English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Because the Royal Dutch East Indies Army has been dissoluted, the centre of the KNIL, located in the Prince Hendrik barracks in Nijmegen, is closed officially with a ceremony. The Minister without portfolio, L. Götzen, delivers a closing speech. SHOTS: - at the square in front of the barracks soldiers stand to attention, among them a department of men from Bronbeek: former KNIL soldiers in their old colonial uniform; - blowing KNIL-flag; - the former commander of the KNIL, general D.C. Buurman van Vreden hands over three Knil banners to the commander of Bronbeek, general Van Straaten(?); - the ex-servicemen march past the authorities with the banners; - speech by Götzen; -flag is lowered; all soldiers salute.

Omdat het Koninklijk Nederlands Indisch Leger ontbonden is, wordt het centrum van het KNIL, gevestigd in de Prins Hendrikkazerne in Nijmegen, met militair ceremonieel officieel gesloten. De minister zonder portefeuille, L. Götzen, spreekt een slotwoord. SHOTS: - Op het kazerneplein staan militairen aangetreden, onder hen een afdeling mannen uit huize Bronbeek: oud-KNIL militairen in het oude koloniale uniform; wapperende KNIL-vlag; - de oud-commandant van het KNIL, generaal D.C. Buurman van Vreden overhandigt drie KNIL-vaandels aan de commandant van Bronbeek, generaal Van Straaten(?); - de oudgedienden defileren, mét de vaandels, voor de autoriteiten; - toespraak Götzen; - vlag wordt gestreken; alle militairen salueren. |
