English: Old Melrose in winter. Old Melrose is on a land peninsula surrounded by the River Tweed and was the site of a 7th century monastery with links to St Aidan and St Cuthbert. This was taken from Scott's View with the Eildon Hills in the background and the 19th century house called Old Melrose on the bottom left. For a similar view in autumn see 572820.
