Summary
[edit]DescriptionNo Barbeque at Broadsands Beach, near Churston - geograph.org.uk - 1386750.jpg |
English: No Barbeque at Broadsands Beach, near Churston The prohibition on this sign is no doubt intended to prevent nuisance to other users of the beach. Probably also to minimize litter and prevent the litter bins from being set alight. However, as with all such signs, they have limited effectiveness, which is evident from the occasional trays of cold charcoal and mess on the beach which appear overnight.
The houses above the beach clearly have a superb view across the bay. There used to be a pathway from the end of the beach up the hill, but this has now become overgrown and a warning sign advises walkers to take the South Devon Coast path which is nearby and a little further inland. |
